Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This policy explains what information the VisitPlaner mobile app (iOS and Android) collects, why, and the choices you have. In this policy "VisitPlaner", "we" and "us" refer to the provider of the app; you can reach us at [email protected].

In short: we collect only what the app needs to plan and show your trips. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. You can delete your account and its content from inside the app at any time.

1. Information we collect

Information the app creates when you install it

The app works without signing in. On first launch it registers your device with our server so that only the genuine app can access your data:

Account information (optional)

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive from that provider your account identifier and, if provided, your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address), your name and profile photo. We use these only to keep your trips on your account across devices.

Your trips and content

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device's location while you use it — to show where you are on the map and to guide you during navigation. To calculate a route, the coordinates of the route's points (which may include your current position) are sent to our server. We do not build or store a history of your location.

To show city suggestions that suit you, we keep the country you live in. It is estimated from your device's time zone or, if you have granted location access, from your location — only the country code is stored, not your position. You can change it in the app's profile settings.

Purchases

Plan packages are sold as in-app purchases through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card or payment details. Purchase processing is provided by Qonversion, which reports to us the product purchased, the store transaction identifier, the purchase date and whether it was a test (sandbox) purchase, so we can add the plans to your account.

Technical logs

Like most online services, our servers record technical information about requests (such as time, IP address, the requested address and errors) to keep the service secure and to fix problems. These logs are kept for a limited period.

2. How we use information

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run the app, and only as needed for that purpose:

ProviderPurpose
Amazon Web ServicesHosting our servers and database; storing and delivering photos (S3, CloudFront).
Apple, GoogleSign in (optional), app integrity checks, in-app purchase payments.
QonversionProcessing and validating in-app purchases.
OpenFreeMapMap tiles shown in the app. Like any web request, the map server receives your IP address.

If you choose to open a route in another maps app (Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc.), that app's own privacy policy applies. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Place descriptions and photos shown in the app come from public sources such as Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons; they are delivered from our own servers, so viewing them does not share your information with those sites.

4. How long we keep information

We keep your trips and content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your trips, photos, reviews and profile are deleted. Records of purchases may be retained where we are legally required to keep them (for example for accounting and tax purposes). Technical logs are deleted after a limited period.

5. Your choices and rights

6. Security

Every request from the app is signed with a key that stays on your device, and data is transferred over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Children

VisitPlaner is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
